1977 Pontiac Trans Am

  • The Pontiac Firebird was introduced on February 23rd, 1967. It was designed as a pony car to compete with the exciting new Ford Mustang. Pontiac debuted the Firebird just five months after the Chevrolet division unveiled the platform-sharing Camaro. 
  • The name “Firebird” was also previously used by GM for a series of concept cars in the 1950’s. 
  • The second generation of the Firebird was in production from 1970-1981. 
  • The 1977 model received a facelift which featured four rectangular headlamps and slant nose “Batmobile” styling. The shaker scoop also received revisions for this year.  
  • There were 155,735 Pontiac Firebirds produced in 1977 across 4 different trim levels (Base, Esprit, Formula, and Trans Am) 68,744 were Trans Am. 
  • This Firebird is powered by a 6.6L 400 cubic inch mated to a Turbo 350 Transmission. 
  • Options and Features include Rallye II wheels, power windows, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and a trunk release.  
  • This Trans Am sports the original Buccaneer Red paint with the famous black and gold “Screaming Chicken” decal. 
  • This car is all original with 62k miles.
