1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD
- The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette. The first generation model years were from 1955-1957.Ford billed the two seater Thunderbird as a personal luxury car rather than a sports car.

- The 1957 Thunderbird included a restyled front grill, rear deck and new bumpers. It was the first to have a fully padded dash surface.
- A new feature was the Dial-O-Matic power seat which provided a memory setting. When the ignition shut off, the seat returns to the rear position, allowing for easier entry and it would return to the pre-set when the ignition was started.
- The rear deck was restyled once more with the spare tire returning to the trunk which had a new wheel well. This allowed the tire to be stored in a new vertical position.
- The 1957 T-Birds had a selection of four engines. The "D" series was most common with approximately 16,423 out of a total of 21,380 produced.
- This car was purchased in 1958. It was restored by Robbins Restoration of Tuscaloosa, AL and was completed in 1989. It has won many awards including: AACA junior, AACA Senior and Senior car status at the International Thunderbird show in Boston, Mass.
- The engine is 312 cubic inches with a 4 barrel carburetor and produces 245 horsepower.
