1931 Cadillac 355A Dual Windshield Phaeton
- The Cadillac Series 355 was manufactured from 1931 until 1935. As a replacement to the Series 353 it was longer, lower, and featured various updates, yet retained the same 353 cubic inch V8, thus the series designation no longer matched the displacement.
- This Cadillac is finished with the Fleetwood Body. In 1925 the Fisher Body Corporation purchased the Fleetwood Body Company. Fleetwood Bodies were reserved exclusively for Cadillac. By 1929 GM had purchased the remaining shares of Fisher to become the sole owner of both companies. From 1927 through 1934, all Cadillac series offered Fleetwood bodies as an option.
- The Fleetwood body is draped in mint green, while the belt line is finished in a dark green that runs the entire length of the car. Surprisingly, these were factory colors.
- The front is led by a pair of headlights and Trippe Safety lights, a radiator stone guard, a Cadillac goddess mascot, and dual side-mounted spares topped with chrome sideview mirrors, while the rear features a folding trunk rack and small trunk space nestled above the rear rack.
- Trimmed in a dark green that contrasts and pairs well with the mint green body, the interior is that of luxury. Divided by a folding tonneau shield, the driver is faced by an Art Deco engine-turned dash with multiple gauges, while the passengers' quarters feature a folding armrest, a tonneau shield with adjustable wind wings, and a comfortable footrest.
- Under the double hinged hood lies one of the best of the era, a 353-cubic-inch L-head Cadillac V-8 engine producing 95 horsepower that is mated to a synchromesh three-speed transmission, an ideal combination for someone looking to enjoy this dual windshield on collector car tours.
- An example that is sure to captivate while in motion or standing still, thanks to its superior presence and wonderful period color combination, this Dual Windshield Phaeton with highly desirable coachwork by the masters at Fleetwood, certainly lives up to Cadillac's grand marketing slogan, "Standard of the World."
