1930 PIERCE ARROW MODEL A CONVERTIBLE
- Pierce Arrow manufactured cars in Buffalo, NY from 1901 until 1938.
- One of the three Ps (Pierce Arrow, Packard and Peerless) known as the most prestigious cars built in America.
- The headlights are integrated into the fenders was a trademark of Pierce Arrow; not allowed to be used in its native New York!
- The "Kneeling Archer" mascot was another trademark of Pierce Arrow. The model was Albert Ganos. He worked at the factory sweeping floors.
- Unusual feature: The "Fifth Door" behind the seat is where you kept your fifth of liquor. This was during the time of prohibition. the small door on the passenger side is the "Golf Door" to store and transport golf clubs.
- The spokes are made of ash and are known as "Artillery Wheels".
- Engine: Straight Eight. 385 cu. in. Producing 132 horsepower.
- Originally purchased in Memphis, TN. Restored by H.W. Watts of Atlanta in the early 1970s.
- Purchased for the collection in 1973.
