The 1930 Packard won best in show at the Atlanta Concours d' Elegance
- The Packard Motor Car Company was founded in 1899 by James Ward Packard in Warren, Ohio. The plant was moved to Detroit in 1903.
- Packards were produced until 1958
- Packard earned its International prestige in a price range that was crowded with competitors such as: Duesenberg, Peerless, Pierce Arrow, Cord and Cadillac.
- Ray Dietrich modified the theme of the 1929 645 series to make the 745 lower and more sleek. The 745 was the top of the line model.
- The McGowen brothers of Branford, Connecticut bought the car in 1960. Bob Kauffman of Atlanta, GA bought the car in 1971 in unrestored but running condition. Jack Miller bought the Packard in 1982 and performed an extensive 3 year restoration. William Word of Atlanta bought it in 1999. The Packard was then purchased by Chip and Rhonda Cofer in 2015.

- Features exclusive to the 745: frame is 5 inches liner, windshield is 1 inch lower, double metal wood grain trim on the interior doors, pleated leather seats, shroud on the radiator for better air flow, heart shape radiator, rear air vents, rear compartment entry lights and the rear end is geared for higher speed.
- The mascot was called the Adonis in the catalog. It was also known as the "Sliding Boy".
- The most important mechanical change was the four speed transmission. The fourth gear was low-low. It was designed to provide extra power for special situations.
